In actuality, the mysterious object was a lizard. I have no particular fondness for lizards (in my opinion, all of the world's cutest animals are mammals) but this lizard was, I had to admit, an exceptionally handsome one. Tail included, it was about as long as the palm of my hand. Its eyes shone like jewels and its skin was a pleasing emerald-green. Something about it suggested an intelligence that I'd never before in my life thought to accredit to lizards. As I stood there admiring it, the lizard began to make these little chirping sounds. The chirps didn't seem to be simply random emissions of sound, but rather, a message in the language of lizards. I listened closely for a while, trying to identify some kind of a pattern but, as I did so, my mind began to wander... I began remembering all sorts of happy memories of fun times with Shuhei, which didn't seem unusual at first. We'd been going through one of those really good phases lately, and it seemed only natural that I should be thinking good things about him. However, when I tried to turn my attention to the lizard's chirping again, I found that it was difficult to concentrate. Trying to think about anything other than fun times with Shuhei only made more and more happy memories clearer and clearer in my mind. The lizard came towards me and suddenly the situation filled me with a sense of dread. I'd had enough, and I was ready to carry along on my way. It was at this point that I realized that I couldn't move. I could tense my muscles, but I was unable to move so much as an inch. Even as I began to panic, my mind operated in tandem. I began to suspect that this strange, handsome lizard had put some kind of spell on me and I was terrified of its consequences. But such thoughts were becoming increasingly elusive as my mind madly continued feeding itself happy memories. The lizard, meanwhile, had become silent. It walked towards me, as calmly as it pleased, crawled onto my shoe, under my cuff, and began walking up my bare leg. It walked up my thigh and then began nudging my underwear aside with its nose. I clenched every muscle in my body as hard as I could, but my powers of thought were weakening, and I wondered how much longer I would be able to maintain even this limited facet of control over my body. The lizard's curse was growing stronger and even my instinct to resist was now being muffled by other thoughts, not belonging to me, urging me to just allow whatever may be to be...
