2008-12-30 - 8:30 p.m. Did you eat all of the bananas today, Shuhei asks. (This isn't an accusation. Actually, he seems kind of impressed.) Maybe, I answer. In reality, I only ate one banana. But I did use the entire bunch. At this point I decide to not tell Shuhei what I did with them. (This is one way in which I've become a little strange since getting married. That is, I now keep secrets from time to time for no good reason at all. It's become kind of like a hobby for me.) But, the question remains, what did I do with all those bananas? The idea started while I was mashing up bananas to bake with. My hands were a lot softer afterwards compared to when I'd started and, while my moon cake was in the oven, I discovered that I was just bored enough to investigate to cause for this change. And so it was that - informed by the internet that natural acids are very desirous things - I spread mashed up banana over my entire body while Shuhei was at work the day before we left for our honeymoon*. The results of my experiment were quite pleasing. I became very soft and smooth and my circulation might have improved too, though that result is debatable and, in any case, didn't last long. I will probably make myself into a moon cake before our next honeymoon too.** ************ * Yes, I realize that honeymoons typically follow shortly after weddings and that some people might argue that this wasn't a honeymoon, but they would be wrong. It was a honeymoon. (There are two things that I regret about not having a wedding. One, weddings make grandmas happy and I like happy grandmas. And two, not having a wedding made Shuhei think that it was OK to make me wait for a honeymoon for two whole years, which it wasn't.)
